Altit Valley is situated in Hunza, within the Northern Areas of Pakistan. Altit is a Tibetan word which means “ this side down.” History tells us that the people of Altit are known to belong to the white huns, although it is still much of a myth. The language spoken in this region is known as Bruchiski

This valley is a major tourist attraction because of its architectural design and strategic location. Altit is known to be the birthplace of the Hunza kingdom. The Altit fort, which also resides in proximity to the valley is the oldest monument standing and it is believed to be 50 to 100 years older than the Baltit Fort.
